Yoga Warm Up Poses
The Yoga Warm Up Poses represent a set of easy stretching poses that prepare your body for the following harder poses. These poses are very important for you to get ready for the yoga session. They stretch your body easily. Therefore, practicing these Yoga Warm Up Poses will prevent muscular accidents and pain. But they are also great restorative poses. Which will gently stretch your body after a hard day at work.
Yoga Warm Up Poses
Sukhasana – Pleasant Pose – you start this pose in cross-legged position. You can put a blanket or your yoga block under your seat. Because your knees should be lower than your hips. In this pose you can do a few neck rolls. Also you can circle your head. But do the same numbers of rolls on one direction as in the other. This pose provides a gentle stretch for your thighs, spine, shoulders and neck.
Parivrtta Sukhasana – The twisted pleasant pose. You start this pose in the previous position (Sukhasana). Now twist your spine. Firstly, twist to the right. Furthermore, place the left palm on the right knee. And place the left palm on the mat behind your back. Twist with every exhale and straighten your spine with every inhale. Stay in this position for a few breaths then switch for the other side. This pose will gently and deeply stretch your spine.
Cat-cow Stretching Pose – This pose starts in all fours. When you inhale, curve your spine and move your gaze up. Stretch your spine as much as possible. At an exhale, slowly move your gaze down. Push the pelvis in. Stretch your spine until your chin touches your chest. Repeat this pose a few minutes. And move gently with your breath.
These Yoga Warm Up Poses will gently stretch your spine, neck, back, thighs and shoulders. Therefore, they prevent accidents caused by the harder yoga stretching poses.
