Moses – The Greatest Prophet Of Judaism

Moses is the main character of The Exodus. This part of the Old Testament describes the numerous highs and lows of Judaism. To deeply understand the importance of Moses, first we have to understand the history of Judaism as The Exodus presents it. This part starts with 70 families that were welcomed by the Pharaoh in Egypt. But their short number quickly started to grow, until there have been over 3 million Jews in Egypt. The Pharaoh and the whole Egyptian population starts to worry about a rise of the Jews against the Pharaoh.

As a way to stop their reproduction, the Pharaoh orders the killing of all the Jewish boys. This is when Moses was born. His parents tried to hide him. But they had to find another way to protect baby Moses. Therefore, his mother places him in a basket and hides him in the reeds of the Nile. And, as most of us know, he is found. By none other than the daughter of the Pharaoh.

The story continues, with Moses being raised as the Pharaoh’s grandson. But he never becomes an Egyptian, because the Pharaoh’s daughter hires Moses’s mother as his nanny. Which contributes to Moses’s knowledge about Judaism and him being Jewish. The problems start when one day Moses kills a taskmaster that beats a Jew. Then he starts to hide for his life, going to Midian. Where he meets and marries Tzipporah. And they have two kids (Gershon, Eliezer). Then he becomes a shepherd and lives a quiet life.

Until one day when he encounters God. One day, while tending sheep, he has a vision of a burning bush. Then God starts to talk to him. God referring to Himself as The God of Moses’s forefathers. He tells that Moses that he wants the Jews out of Egypt. So, Moses goes back to Egypt, demanding the Pharaoh to let his people go. The Pharaoh won’t d that, so God releases the 10 plagues upon the Egyptians. Which will finally convince the Pharaoh to let go the Jews.

But Moses’s duty will not stop here. He will lead the Jews out from the desert. And, as a result, the Jewish people will become a whole nation.

In conclusion, the answer to the question Who Was Considered Judaism’s Greatest Prophet? Is Moses, because he accomplished a lot for his people. He was brave and he had faith in God. Leading himself and his nation to victory.
