Restorative Yoga Poses – Most of the people think that yoga is a very active practice. But it has its restorative and relaxing sides. Firstly, restorative poses were developed to relax and get rid of stress.
These are easy poses that don’t need much effort. You will have to concentrate on mindfulness and relaxation, not on the poses.
There are many Restorative Yoga Poses but I will present you the most relaxing ones, in my opinion.
Restorative Yoga Poses
Balasana (Child’s Pose)
You have to kneel on the floor. Now touch your big toes together. Sit on your heels. Now separate your hips to become as wide as your hips. Now exhale and lay your chest between your thighs. So lay your hands on the floor with your palms up. Now release the fronts of your shoulders on the floor. You have to stay in this pose from 30 seconds to a few minutes. It will help you to stretch your hips, thighs and your ankles. Also, it can help you to calm your mind, relieve stress. It is also good against back and neck pain. It is the best Yoga Pose To Relieve Headaches.
Savasana (Corpse Pose)
This pose is very important against stress and depression. It can calm our mind and relax our body. But it can also lower blood pressure, reduce headaches, fatigue and even insomnia.
You have to sit on the floor with your knees bent. Put your feet on the floor and lean back. Rest your arms by your sides with the palms facing the sky. Close your eyes and breath. Stay in this position as long as it is comfortable. If you decide to come out of this pose, You have to roll to your right side. Now take 2 or 3 breaths and gently lift yourself back to the sitting position.
Supta Baddha Konasana (Reclining Bound Angle Pose)
This Yoga pose stimulates our abdominal organs. It also stimulates the heart and improves the blood circulation. It stretches the inner thighs and knees. Therefore, it can help us get rid of stress, depression menstrual and menopause pain.
Lay on your back. Put your soles together. Now slide your heels as close to the groin as it is comfortable for you. Put your arms at an angle of 45 degree to your torso, with palms facing to the sky. Every time you exhale, let the knees float to the ground. It will create a nice stretch between the inner thighs and groin. If you are done with the pose, just roll on the right side. Now prop yourself up to the sitting position.
