Morning Routine and Good Habits
Having a morning routine and good habits can go a long way in ensuring your energy and productivity levels. A morning routine, even if you might not fully acknowledge it, sets the tone for how the rest of your day will unfold.
If you wake up late and hurry to take a shower, eat something and then hurry out the door, you will probably have a hectic day. Everything will seem as if it works against you. You will probably get stuck in traffic, arrive late at the office, and so on.
On the other hand, if you have a well established morning routine, you can avoid all that. You will have time to eat and enjoy your cup of tea or coffee, take a shower, schedule your tasks and even exercise.
Here are some morning routine and good habits to practice:
Start your day early. Early mornings offer some of the clearest and quietest moments. Waking up early doesn’t mean doing it at the crack of dawn. Spend the time you have available to schedule your tasks, write in your journal, meditate, or go for a light jog.
Open your windows. Sunlight and clear air can be the cure to many health issues. You will almost instantly be put in a good mood and your body’s production of serotonin will increase.
Meditate. For your peace of mind and to reduce stress, practice meditation. It can be as little as 10 minutes. Just climb out of bed and clear your mind of stress and clutter. This morning routine practice will relieve mental stress and improve your brain’s functions.
Drink lemon water. Not only is it good for a healthy digestive system, it also energizes you. It is a great way to boost your immune system and you will protect yourself against free radicals damage.
Shower. Although it might not be on top of your morning routine list, a morning shower is good for you. It refreshes your body and mind and improves blood circulation.
Read something inspirational. Just as your body needs workouts, your mind does too. Reading something inspirational before beginning your day can give you a positive outlook for the rest of the day. It can be anything from a quote to a short story.
Keep a gratitude list. Practice gratitude from the moment you wake up to the moment you go to bed. Keep in mind that there is always something to be grateful for. Regardless if it’s something big or small, give thanks.
