Mindful Yoga Poses
Samashiti or Tadasana – These Mindful Yoga poses bring awareness into your mind. Your awareness will be in every part of your body. You press your feet into the floor. Now move your hands slowly and place them at the center of your chest. Now inhale and lift your arms and point them to the sky, over your head. When you exhale, bring your hands back to your heart.
Vrikshasana (Tree Pose) – This pose helps your mind to focus on finding the balance in your body and to maintain it. You start this pose by shifting your lift to your right foot. Inhale and lift the leg. Now rotate it externally. Turn your foot sole to the sky. Place your foot on the upper place of your tight. Now bring your hands to your heart. Move slowly and be aware of every micro-movement.
Anjaneyasana (Low Lunge) – This an easier Mindful Yoga pose then the tree pose. It is also linked to your ability to create and keep your balance. It is also a great pose to stretch your spine. Bring your attention to your spine. Feel every stretch. Slowly bend your right knee. Now place your left leg behind and bend it slowly. Place the left knee on the floor. Press the top of the same foot into the ground. Now bring your arms up alongside your ears. Press your right feet into the ground. Stay in this pose to bring awareness. Keep your balance and focus on the slow movements.
Supta Baddha Konasana (Reclining Bound Angle Pose) – This pose is the best finishing pose for a Mindful Yoga sequence. Meditation will be just a few breaths away. It brings your awareness to your soul. You body will slowly relax. Lay down on the corpse pose. Now bring the soles of your feet together. Let your knees fall open. Now extend your arms by your side. Face your palms up. Now start to relax your face, chest, shoulders, hips and feet. Breath through your abdomen. Inhale slowly. With every exhale bring your awareness to this world.
These Mindful Yoga poses are the most relaxing and important for a quiet mind. They will help you to focus your concentration and bring your awareness to your body, how you feel and then to your soul.
