Valentine’s Day is approaching and you need an idea for a dessert? Worry not. This milk chocolate icebox pie will save your date and please just about anyone. Here is how you can make it:

icebox pie

  • 6 tbsp of unsalted butter
  • 25 crushed Nabisco Famous wafer cookies
  • 1 tbsp of sugar
  • a pinch of salt
  • 4 large eggs
  • 3 Hershey’s milk chocolate bars
  • 2 tbsp of cocoa powder
  • 2/3 cup of sugar
  • 1 stick of unsalted butter
  • 1/8 tsp of salt
  • whipped topping

Milk Chocolate Icebox Pie

Firstly, mix together the butter, sugar, salt and cookie crumbs into a medium bowl. Stir them together thoroughly then press into bottom and up side of a pie pan. Refrigerate it until you prepare the filling for your icebox pie.

For the filling you have to chop 2 and ½ of your chocolate bars. Pour two inches of water into a pot and bring them to a boil. Place a bowl over the boiling pot and combine the eggs and 1/3 cup of sugar in it. Let the steam do it’s job while you mix everything together until you get a fluffy texture.

So, now you have to pour in the chopped chocolate and cocoa powder and blend until it’s smooth. Set it aside and let it cool down for 15 minutes. Once the egg mixture finished cooling off, combine it with the remaining sugar and butter.

Take half of the whipped topping and add it onto the mixture and stir it in. Spread it onto the crust of your pie and let it refrigerate overnight.

Lastly, just before you serve your icebox pie, take the last of your whipped topping and spread it over the center of the pie. You can use a vegetable peeler to make curls out of a chocolate bar or you can add sprinkles.
