Mantra Meditation is a meditation method that focuses your attention on a word or phrase that you repeat. It is one of the most popular meditation methods. If you are stressed, filled with worries or just need a few minutes of mindfulness, Mantra Meditation is for you. It is also a great way to reprogram your mind. Yes, you can do that. If you are too pessimistic, negative and sad, you can use an optimistic and positive mantra. It will convert the negative energy within yourself into positive thoughts.
Many people use this kind of meditation to get closer to God. We all are born with a false belief that we are separated from God. Mantra Meditation can help us connect with him again. Well connected we have always been. But we weren’t aware of that. Therefore, we can use mantras that help us remind ourselves that we are connected with God. We can remind ourselves that we are a part of God. Our pure soul is his soul, we are perfect the way we are. God loves us and takes care of us always.
How to: Mantra Meditation
Firstly, you need a mantra. It can be a word (joy, happiness, love, kindness, compassion, gratitude, healing etc). It can be a few words (quick healing, happy thoughts, positive energy, God’s love, etc). But your mantra can also be a phrase, such as: I am thankful, I am happy, I am healthy, God loves me, I exist, I am a perfect creation of God, etc. Analyze yourself and you will see what is missing from your life.
If you have chosen the perfect phrase for you, close your eyes. When you feel comfortable, start to focus on your breath a few moments. Relax your body, a part at a time starting from toes to head. Now scan your body, check if it is fully relaxed. Now remember your phrase. Repeat it over and over again.
You can say your mantra aloud, silently or you can repeat it only in your mind. Don’t rush it. Repeat every word of your mantra slowly. Feel the real meaning of every word. Notice how the mantra makes you feel. You have to feel that the mantra is true.
If your mind start to brig thoughts that have no connection to the mantra, just let the those thoughts fly away slowly. You just notice them, don’t judge or think about them. Notice those thoughts and let them go. Then bring your attention back to the mantra.
When you are stressed you can use a Mantra Meditation with phrases like “calm”, “peace”, “I feel the love of God”, “i feel the peace of God”, “I am a peaceful and loved creation of God”, etc.
Mantra Meditation is a very effective meditation method. So, choose your own mantra, the one that you need the most. Use it and enjoy its benefits. But remember that the source of every pain and suffering is the belief that we are separated from the divine.
