The aims is to consume foods that are have lower calorie intake, but are rich in protein, fiber, minerals and vitamins. The plan of reducing calories will not be successful overnight or if you aren’t determined to make it work. It’s important to cut down on your calories from your meals, but also exercise regularly and maintain an active lifestyle.

Pick out to eat more natural food. Fruit and vegetables should make up a large portion of your plan of reducing calories. There are so many good vegetables you can choose from: broccoli, spinach, green beans, cabbage, lettuce, sweet potatoes, etc. As for your source of lean protein, it can easily be covered by egg whites, chicken, turkey, fish and brown rice. Avoid highly processed foods, fats and sugary products. Limit your cooking to grilling, boiling or baking in the oven.

A key factor in reducing calories is reducing the portion sizes. Use a smaller plate, eat slower and don’t clean up the plate; leave some for a later meal or snack. And especially don’t eat if you’re not hungry. Hunger and thirst get oftentimes confused and many times when you feel that you are hungry, you are just dehydrated; make sure to replenish your body with the recommended daily intake of water.

Exercise regularly and lead an overall active lifestyle. Exercising is not only beneficial for your physical health, but also for your mental one. Make small changes everyday and alter the way in which you view exercising by making it fun. Choose to take the stairs than the elevator, walk to your destination than drive and park your car at the far end of the car park. For intense training sessions you can take up swimming, cycling, running or weight training.
