The amount of calories. When it comes to calories, there is a big difference between healthy and unhealthy food. You will always have more calories in junk food than you would in fruits and vegetables. In addition to this, you will also get more hungry if you chose to eat unhealthy food. 300 calories of salad will keep you fuller longer than 300 calories from a burger.

Health benefits. Studies have shown that your chances of developing cancer, diabetes or high cholesterol increase when eating unhealthy food. If you want to keep in shape and be healthy, cut down on the junk food!

Costs. Unfortunately, nowadays most of junk food is less expensive than healthy food. This is one of the main reasons why people consume it so much. It is also more convenient than cooking. However, the long term effects are hardly worth it.

Difference Between Healthy and Unhealthy Food

Nutrients. A good nutrition can keep your bones, muscles and other body parts in good shape and health. By consuming more food that are rich in vitamins you can boost your immune system and fight against diseases. This is one of the advantages that healthy foods offer you, in detriment of unhealthy food.

Difference in fat levels. Most unhealthy food contain what we call trans fats. These are saturated fats that put you at greater risk of illnesses. A high amount of trans fat can increase your risk of strokes, clogged arteries and weight gain.

All in all, these are some of the main differences between healthy and unhealthy food. While processed foods may be tasty, their effects on the body are not pleasant. You can indulge, but do so wisely.
