Dehydration Symptoms

Dehydration symptoms can be more severe or light. You might be suffering from dehydration and don’t even know it. Keep in mind that every cell, organ and tissue in your body needs water for proper functioning. Water also plays an important role in regulating temperature, removing toxins and maintaining the glowing of your skin.

Dehydration symptoms can occur at any time. Take time to understand the symptoms that your body is sending and take the appropriate measures to boost your water intake.

Here are some of the most common dehydration symptoms:

Headaches and lightheadedness. Two of the possible dehydration symptoms, they occur when your body’s hydration levels decreases. In turn, this causes a reduction in the amount of fluid surrounding your brain. Headaches and migraines obstruct the flow of oxygen and blood to the brain. As well as taking pills, considering drinking a tall glass of water.

Poor concentration. Seeing that your brain is made up of 90% water, it’s only normal to present dehydration symptoms. Lack of water in the brain directly affects your decision making, memory and concentration. It has also been linked to forgetfulness and difficulty on focusing and communicating.dehydration-symptoms

Dehydration Symptoms

Food cravings. Lots of time when you feel hungry, you are really thirsty. Dehydration sends false signals to your brain that you are hungry. Salty or sweet cravings are associated with less electrolytes and glycogen production. So the next time a craving kicks in, reach for a glass of water. You can also make a refreshing drink or opt for hydrating fruits, such as watermelon or berries.

Fatigue and lethargy. A dehydrated body will obstruct the flow of blood and oxygen all throughout your body. These will cause sleepiness and fatigue. They also affect the transport of the essential nutrients and vitamins. Keep a bottle of water nearby to prevent lethargic feelings and becoming more alert.

These are just some of the most common dehydration symptoms. Understand that water is essential for every process in your body. It is directly linked to your gastrointestinal and oral health. It relieves symptoms of fatigue, as well as joint and muscle pain.

Drink plain water or make different combination of water with lemon, cucumber, berries or herbs.
