Dalai Lama’s Rules of Life: It may seem hard to live a beautiful life with no stress, no anger, no bad thoughts or actions. But these few rules can make you change your mind. Dalai Lama is a Gelug monk who is considered the reincarnation of the Bodhisattva of Compassion. The current Dalai Lama is called Tenzin Gyatso and he is the 14th Dalai Lama.
Dalai Lama’s Rules of Life
The first rule: “Take into account that great love and great achievements involve great risk.” If you want to achieve something, you have to take risks. If you have a dream, that dream may be your karma, you should do anything that you can do to achieve your dreams and make them come true. For that, you have to do the best you can.
The second rule: “When you lose, don’t lose the lesson.” This one of the Dalai Lama’s Rules of Life is talking about learning the lesson. Even id you lode, you must always learn your lesson and don’t make the same mistake twice.
The third rule: “Show respect for self, respect for others and responsibility for all your actions.” You have to respect yourself because you are a piece of The Divine. And you have to show respect for others because they are the same as you, pieces of The Divine, a piece of you. We are all the same, equals. Finally, you have to take responsibility for your actions because it was your decision, your thought, your action, not others’. Don’t blame others for your own actions.
The fourth rule: “Spend some time alone every day.” We all need a few minutes alone per day. We can spend it with meditation, contemplation, reading or just feeling our need, feeling that we exist. Just a few minutes spent alone a day can make such a big difference in your life.
The fifth rule: “A loving atmosphere in your home is the foundation of your life.” Creating a loving home is the most important thing. Our home has to be our sanctuary of love, happiness and peace. After a stressful day, our home will wait for us with the calm and silence we need. A loving home is one of the best healers after a stressful day.
The sixth rule: “Be gentle with the Earth.” This Earth was created by the divine for us. We have to take care of it. There are no actions too small in protecting the environment. Respect the Earth, it is your home for this reincarnation.
The seventh rule: “Once a year, go somewhere you’ve never been before.” This world that we live in is so beautiful, if we had the luck to born here, we should be curious to discover its beauty. Once a year choose a destination and pack up, discover the world, new people, new cultures, new experiences.
