Creating Meditation Space is not as hard as you think. You need a few things that you need. Creating Meditation Space is a one time process. Then you can change or add other objects that you want. Your meditation space must be your temple. It must be one of the most relaxing space you have in your home. It must be a corner where you are feeling safe.
4 Important Steps in Creating Meditation Space:
Choose a space – It must be a quiet space where you will not be disturbed. You can choose a corner of your house. But you can choose a whole room only for spiritual practices. Choose the space that makes you feel the most safe and comfortable.
Make your space comfortable – You need pillows, cushions, a chair. Not all of them. But something that makes the meditating position more comfortable. Your spine must be straight. When your spine is in a bed position and your body is not in balance, the meditation session will not be easy. You want your brain to relax, not to fill your mind with thoughts abut how sore some of your body parts are. So, get comfy!
Fill yourself with sacred items – Your meditation space need some sacred items for every one of the five senses and one item that will represent nature. So, you can choose a relaxing meditation music for hearing. You can choose from candles, incense and essential oils for smell. Mala beads are great to keep in your hands while meditating. Your taste can be inspired with a good tea, some clean water. You can consume it before you start your meditation. As a relaxing start. Your sight can be relaxed with an object that helps you meditate. It can be a painting, a symbol, a statue, even a picture. And nature can be represented by a plant, some stones or crystals, or anything that makes you feel closer to nature.
Make an altar – This is the last step in Creating Meditation Space. The altar has to be a small table that you can keep your sacred items on. Keep it clean and in order. It doesn’t have to be big or fancy. It must be as simple as possible.
